Watercolor, ink and gold on paper of SHIP OF THE LINE NORTH CAROLINA by Nicholas Cammillieri (of Malta, 1798-1856). Painting depicts the ship in rough waters off the coast of Tunisia. "The U.S. Ship North Carolina/Under a press of sail weathering the Isle of Zembra, on the 28th of December 1826, in a sudden gale from N.N.W. Represented at the moment of splitting her Jib in pieces, setting her Foremast Staysail, and Brailing up her Spanker." .
Mounted inside original frame (conserved) in March 2011.
